About Upper Calliope Battery
Upper Calliope Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is currently under development. Once constructed it will store energy from the co-located Upper Calliope Solar Farm. The site is located approximately 50 km south-west of Gladstone.

How will the project benefit the community?
European Energy is committed to maximising the benefits of the project for the local community. Opportunities will be given for local contractors to supply goods and services, particularly during project construction. A community benefit agreement will be put in place with the Gladstone Regional Council to provide grants to community organisations during construction.
How will the project connect to the electricity grid?
The project is in close proximity to Powerlink’s 275kV network and will share connection infrastructure with the co-located Upper Calliope Solar Farm.
How will the project be approved?
A development application will be submitted to the Queensland government.
