About Mokoan Battery

The Mokoan Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a planned 80-megwatt hour project in Winton, Victoria. This project will be developed alongside the Mokoan Solar Farm and co-located at the same site. The site can be found at the intersection of Lee Road and Nelson Road in the Hume Region. The Mokoan BESS aims to enhance grid stability and help the Victorian Government meet its energy security targets.

Construction of the Mokoan Solar Farm is complete and the site produced its first power in December 2024 before becoming fully operational in June of 2025.

This project will help provide energy security for the region and assist with the enhanced integration of renewable energy projects in the area.
